Laurel O'Neal Thornton

Owner, Neuro-Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, and EMDRIA Approved Consultant

Accepting New Telehealth and EMDR Consultation only

My academic background is in neuropsychology and counseling. I attended Basic Training for EMDR in 2011 while I was finishing my master’s and have been using EMDR and the AIP Model as my primary orientation ever since. After graduation while getting licensed, I worked at a private practice that specialized in EMDR and treating complex trauma and stress-based disorders. I started my own practice in Morgantown WV in 2015 that focuses on holistic wellness through the use of EMDR and other complimenting modalities. My focus has expanded to include supervision and consultation. I aim to help clinicians feel more empowered in how they integrate EMDR, neuropsychology, and the AIP model into their existing practice.

I love EMDR because it is a comprehensive approach to helping people heal. It works with the brain and its natural mechanisms that are designed to keep the system safe and heal. I am an EMDRIA approved Consultant and certified in EMDR. I am faculty member with Rebecca Kase & CO, LLC where I work as Basic Training facilitator and special topic trainer. I enjoy consulting with clinicians in diverse settings and look forward to helping you with your individualized questions including those about working with dissociation.

I offer individual and group consultation. Contact me to set up consultation. We offer a reduced fee for employees of non-profits.

Sydney Menigoz

Individual and Group Psychotherapist

I work to provide a holistic, personal form of care that provides each client with the tools they need to overcome life’s challenging moments. I take an integrative approach to helping others better understand how their patterns are impacting their lives and what options they have to do things differently. I utilize a creative, expressive approach to combine art and music into my practice to simulate new pathways in the brain and reprocess trauma. Implementing creativity is a critical component in the healing process and has particular power when working with children and adolescents.
My experience and specialization include the assessment and treatment of children and families experiencing: the mental health effects of trauma, abuse, grief, depression, anxiety, relationship attachment disruption, mood disorders, and self-harm. I take an imaginative and individualistic approach to helping my clients establish adaptive coping skills.
Specific techniques that I utilize in my practice include: specialized training in Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, and Theraplay. I enjoy working with all ages and have specific experience working with children. I work with clients to help promote and maintain balance in life when it may be particularly overwhelming.
